Stake yb-LP
Staking moves your yb-LP into the gauge, the staking contract of its market. There it earns YB emissions, quoted as Emissions APR (Token APR), instead of the Fundamental yield (FT APY) of unstaked yb-LP: Fundamental Value growth from trading fees. This guide also shows how to claim the YB that accrues.
After losses, a staked position can redeem for less than you deposited until later gains close the gap to its watermark. The watermark is the value that the staked side must regain, and losses do not lower it. Do not stake capital that you might need soon. Before you stake, weigh emissions against this risk in Staked and unstaked economics. For how the gap closes, read Watermark and recovery.
When you deposit, you can deposit and stake in one step: select Staked Vault, and then Deposit.
Prerequisites
Check that you have each of these:
- yb-LP shares in your wallet.
- ETH for gas.
Steps
- Go to yieldbasis.com.
- Open Earn, and then My Markets.
- Select the market.
- Select Yield Bearing Vault, and then Convert. In the app, a conversion from Yield Bearing Vault to Staked Vault is a stake.
- Enter the amount of yb-LP to stake.
- If the app asks for a token approval, approve the token. You approve once for each market.
- Submit the conversion to stake the yb-LP.
- Sign the transaction.
Result
The gauge holds your yb-LP and mints gauge shares to your wallet. The app shows them as your Staked Vault position.
Claim YB emissions
Your gauge pays YB emissions pro rata by gauge-share balance. veYB votes set how much each gauge receives and do not boost your share. For how votes and staking ratios set the emissions of a gauge, read Gauges and emissions.
To claim YB emissions, follow these steps:
-
On the market page, select Staked Vault, and then Claim.

-
Submit the claim.
-
Sign the transaction.
Result: the gauge sends the YB that accrued to your wallet.
