Supply structure
The 1B cap is partitioned at deploy into:
- Pre-allocations. Minted via
mint()to vesting contracts (team, investors, treasury, etc.) before ownership is renounced. Governed by the vesting schedules in Tokenomics. - Emission reserve. The remaining balance, released over time via
emit()on an exponential-decay schedule controlled byGaugeController. Thereservestate variable asymptotes to zero.
See Tokenomics for the full distribution and vesting schedules. See Emission Dynamics for the math of the emission curve.
Utility (only when locked)
Unlocked YB sits idle. Lock YB into veYB to activate:
- Governance votes. 1 veYB minimum to create a proposal; passes at 30% quorum and 55% support after a 7-day window. See Proposals.
- Gauge voting. Direct YB emissions across liquidity pools. Votes apply instantly; 10-day re-vote cooldown per gauge. See Gauges & Emissions.
- Fee revenue share. Weekly distribution of protocol admin fees, paid in ybBTC tokens per market, with 4-week smoothing. Thursday 00:00 UTC. See veYB.
